Dec 06Pikom’s PC Fair 2006 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center

I visited the fair with my children today. There were so many people there which is normal for PC Fair in KL. After roaming around the exhibition halls, I came back home RM 1478 poorer (approx USD 400). But I was happy to be poorer by that much because I got what I had wanted for quite some time.
I had been thinking on a new digital camera and I was looking forward to buy a Sony T50, but my son CONvinced me to buy a Nikon instead ..
But then it wasn’t a bad deal after all. I got my Nikon S8 for MYR 1388 (approx USD 387). For the offer price, the camera comes with a tripod, leather casing, cables, CD, docking station for charging, battery, and 2GB SD. Actually the offer comes with 1GB SD only but I bargained with the boss for a 2GB SD and he agreed. Not bad ehhh?
And the kids went home with two Kingston Data Traveller 512 MB at MYR 38 (approx USD 11) each.
This years price at the PC Fair is quite cheap. Just few weeks ago I bought a 1GB Kingston for MYR 67 (approx USD 19) and today it is selling for a mere MYR 57 (approx USD 16).
The vendors are getting smarter this year. Almost all purchases of bulky items such as printers and PCs come with free traveller trolley, which makes it so much easier to pull the boxes around the hall.
My wish list for the next PC fair? Maybe a portable 100GB hard disk and a laser printer. Who knows.

[...] I am currently using a camera that comes together with a Sony Ericsson mobile phone. While the handphone has all the great features I had wanted, the camera is not good enough taking pictures at only 2.0 megapixel. I want to take better pictures at higher resolutions. So I went to Kuala Lumpur PC Fair recently and got myself a 7 megapixel Nikon S8 digital camera. The camera is so cute and the picture quality is of course better than the 2 megapixel Sony Ericsson camera previously. [...]

[...] Just minutes ago I heard thunderous sound in front of our apartment in Taman Desaminium. When I rushed out to the balcony, I found out there was a firework from the other side of the town where I live, most probably from the National Sport Complex at Bukit Jalil Stadium, but I am not sure. I am also not sure what is the occasion, the one I could think of was Aidil Adha which all Muslims are celebrating tomorrow, but I had managed to catch the fireworks on my Nikon camera and uploaded it to YouTube. Enjoy! [...]
