I first blogged about Agloco way back in December 2006. At that time, Agloco just existed in name. Nothing more, nothing less. The business concept of Agloco is simple though. Join Agloco as member, download the Agloco Viewbar and surf internet as normal. You can also refer someone to join Agloco and will be appropriately rewarded for that. Agloco however a step further in terms of its business operating principle. The company is owned by you… at least what is claimed by the founders of Agloco… by virtue that you can either get paid by cash or by share, if you prefer.

That was just a story then and many people viewed Agloco as just another scam. And I believe until today many people still believe so. I rather take a different approach and joined Agloco and wait to see what had happened.

Recently, Agloco had sent emails informing all its members that had registered during pre-launch about the much awaited Viewbar which is ready for download. I tried to download once but the traffic was so heavy that it was just not possible to download so I backoff for a while and today I managed to download and install the Viewbar.

After installation, you will signon to Agloco and the Viewbar will be sitting very unobstructively at the bottom of your screen above your Window bar. Thats where the text advertisements will be served and displayed.

Well, I haven’t seen real money yet, but the Viewbar is really conveniently located and does not bother me at all. So let’s see if I can really own the internet as claimed by Agloco… and make some extra cash. You can also own the internet if you wish…

I blogged about a new way to earn extra income by using a search engine SlashMySearch sometime in Fabruary. There has been some update today by SlashMySearch and its good news for all affiliates. SlashMySearch has started to pay its members. All you have to do is to click request payment from your affiliate control panel, however the minium amount is USD50 but that had been reduced to USD45. According to SlashMySearch, the amoung will be further reduced in the future to USD20.

With this new development, SlashMySearch has proved that it is not a scam and has lived up to its promise. I must say there have been many hiccups using SlashMySearch at beginning but that is normal in a beta stage for any new service, however a lot of issues had been resolved along the way and SlashMySearch is now, in my humble opinion, a new search engine force to be reckoned with.

I blogged about earning some extra money using a search engine SlashMySearch before in this blog. Subsequently, the same post made it to Darren Rowse’s Speed Linking Reader Edition. Here are some updates about my account since I joined SlashMySearch program 13th Feb 2007.

I had 11 affiliates signed up under Level 1. I had 5 affiliates signed up under my level 1 affiliates. My total earning so far is US$2.84603 and I am not using it as heavy as I should have. What do you think? OK, I agree its not big amount, yet…. but for a new program, it pays not bad at all I must say. Of course I still have to wait until I reach minimum amount for my first payment but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I hope SlashMySearch will walk their talk and pay all affiliates as promised. I found out about this fantastic program offered by SlashMySearch.com which is basically another search engine. However it’s not just another everyday search engine. Unlike other search engines, SlashMySearch is a search engine that pays the users, which is very interesting indeed. All you have to do is register as member with the search engine and you are given a member Id which is also qualifies to be their affiliate as well. Then you set your browser’s default home page to the URL address that has your member ID embedded. Now everytime you start your browser, SlashMySearch homepage will be defaulted for you automatically and you use it just like you use other search engine as default. That’s it. Everytime you search, you get some earning credited to your account.

Now if that’s not cool, I don’t know what is. And to make it even more cooling, you can now start referring unlimited number of people for up to two levels deep and earn some percentage on their earnings as well. I just signed up about 2 hours ago and start doing a few searches to see if returns comparable results to Google or Yahoo and it sure did.

Upon logging to my account, I noticed that I have been credited with USD0.15625 for just seven clicks. Imagine how many searches we every do month? Better than Adsense? You decide. The nicest thought about this program is that even if it ended paying you a few dollars after one month, it is still better than Google, Yahoo or other search engine which pays nothing. That’s what I call cool extra money.

All in all, I highly recommend this affiliate program as you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. One more thing to note though, your first payment will only be paid, either by check PayPal or eGold, after two months because obviously SlashMySearch needs to wait for that money to come from advertisers, which is fair.

I am not sure if you have heard of AGLOCO. With the internet at work, I am not surprised if a lot of you may already have been told about ‘Owning the Internet’.

What is it?
AGLOCO is a company that pays you to surf the web. But that company is actually owned by you. How is that? You joined AGLOCO for free, download a Viewbar and install it on your PC and continue surfing as usual. You can earn credit hours up to 5 hours. AGLOCO is currently in the process of being listed in a stock exchange. So when it does, you can convert your credit hours into shares, which if course has cash values. So thats how in principal yopu can earn money wioth AGLOGO.

Who is behind AGLOCO?
AGLOCO is the brainchild of Carl Anderson, an AllAdvantage co-founder and now a hedge-fund manager, and Dave Pidwell, a venture partner at Alloy Partners and an early investor of AllAdvantage. There are 8-founding members of AGLOCO altogether, all graduated from Stanford MBA business school.

How Much Do I Get Paid?
As I have said, currently, you can only earn credit hours for surfing with the Viewbar active. If it is not active or minimized, you dont earn credit hours. How much you can earn depends how much credit hours you have converted to shares which of course depend also on the value of the shares at any particular time you are evaluating your worth.

Can I Start Earning Credit Hours Now?
Unfortunately NO. The Viewbar is at the beta testing stage by some volunteers. Once it is ready, AGLOCO will inform all members and the Viewbar will be ready for download.

So No Viewbar Yet, What The Heck Am I Doing?
Making money on the internet is about getting as many people as possible to join you. Build up your down lines. Thats what you do. You refer to as many people as possible to join under your referral links. Your referrals in turn refer their friends to join. You will earn credit hours for referring up to 5 levels deep, but you can go as wide as you can. So when the Viewbar is ready, you are also ready to maximize your earning. If you dont start referring now. others will. By the time you want to do it, maybe almost everybody interested is already part of AGLOCO. You dont want to be in that position, do you?

Is This Pyramid Scheme?
Structure wise, yes. But that is where the similarity ends. Pyramid schemes ask people to pay money to be shared by people at the upper level. AGLOCO doesn’t ask you to pay a single cents. Instead it pays you, as a shareholder of the company.

How Does AGLOCO Make Money?
AGLOCO makes money by selling advertising on the Viewbar. The Viewbar collects information about your surfing behaviour, and deliver targeted advertisements that you may be interested in.

Is This Spyware?
I’d say anything that analyses your surfing habit is spyware..but with your consent. If you dont consent, don’t join AGLOCO. Is that simple. However, if you consent, but you get paid for it in cash and shares. But remember, Google also delivers targeted ads based on what you are surfing. Do you consent? Do you consider that spying? You decide.
