Personal energy wind tunnel designed by Philippe Starck

This cool looking personal wind tunnel could well be the gadget every household would have in the future. The wind tunnel is the work of a well known designer Philippe Starck, who had come out of retirement just to design this potentially cost saving device for all human kinds.

This device generates cheap energy at low costThe designer claimed this simple-looking UDSD $633 gadget is able to crank out 20-60% of the power needed in a house… now go figure out which appliances in your house that can be powered by this small turbine.

Available in either stainless steel, signal orange or crazy transparent style, the new electricity generators will be shipping to everyone in September. I hope it wont take long for the energy generator to arrive in Malaysia.

Portable jump starter you would want to have

Posted by CJCM

Portable jump starterI found this little gadget via Geeky Traveller and I think you should know about it. This portable jump starter is always ready to serve you at your car’s mercy… if you know what I mean.

It can jump start your car right through your car’s cigarette lighter which means you don’t have to get out of your car to open the hood…. which is a big bonus if your car battery died on you in the middle of scorching sun or heavy rain. When you are done with your car, this great battery charger can re-charge itself as you drive your way to your destination. How easier can that be?

Now, if only this portable battery is available in Malaysia. But you can always buy it online at firstSTREET and pay additional charges to get it delivered all the way from the US to Malaysia…. the cost of which could be more than the charger itself but would worth every cents of your money… trust me!

Say cheese with Sony’s latest digital cameras

Sony Cybershot DSC T200

If you don’t smile, it won’t capture. As simple as that. Sony’s latest Cybershot DSC T200 and DSC T70 employ face detection technology that won’t snap high-definition pictures until a selected subject smiles.

“Using the smile recognition shutter function selected by the touch panel, you can pick which of up to eight people is the key smile,” said Akira Tokuse who works in Sony product development.

Cool or not? I guess it depends who you talked to. You dare to bet that these cameras will not capture any picture of Mr Bean?

World’s smallest robot unveiled

Posted by CJCM

World’s smallest robot made in TaiwanIt is only 15cm tall, controlled by infrared and battery operated. The world’s smallest robot is made in Taiwan by GeStream Technology Inc and will be showcased at the 8th International Strategic Partnership & Business Networking Trade Fair for SMEs (Global SMEs 2007) to be held at Matrade Exhibition & Convention Centre KL, from Sept 6 to 8. This cute robot can be yours for around RM650 to RM700 making it the cheapest so far.

With 16 degrees of freedom, which translates to 65536 motions, the Taiwanese humanoid robot is the smallest, lightest and the cheapest in the world.

“This new version is suitable for robot games and it is easy for the owner to download and update the newest robot motions or movements,” he said, adding that it was also easy to assemble and disassemble the battery-operated robot.

“Because the robot is sold in pieces, the owner will need to programme and learn to build his own robot. He can also add in any motion he wants to the robot,” said Chang.
