Another fraudulent email to steal my PayPal information

Posted by CJCM

Here is another attempt by some online criminals to steal my PayPal information. The email was supposedly sent by PayPal but if you scrutinize closely, it is very obvious that the email is an attempt by someone to steal your PayPal account ID and password.

The most obvious one is the link in the email where you are supposed to click to confirm your account.

Attempt to steal PayPal account information

When I hover my mouse cursor over the link, it shows right at the bottom left of my screen the actual URL, which is not PayPal’s URL, if I click the above link. So if you receive any email asking you to confirm your PayPal account, NEVER click the link from the email. If you are itchy to check your account status, do it by entering the URL directly into your browser address bar, just as a matter of pre-caution. It doesn’t hurt to be extra careful.

Bloggers…How Do You Keep Your Fitness?

Posted by CJCM

I just came back from jogging with my 4-year old daughter. We went running around the apartment blocks where we live which covers quite a wide area. And then we stopped at the volleyball courts and jogged around the court for many more rounds. I haven’t actually been doing a lot of exercises lately due to many reasons (or rather excuses.. :) ) It seems my daughter has more energy and fitness than me. She never stopped running and walking for the entire 45 minutes we were out there. As a matter of fact she even challenged me to catch her which I gladly took up and started chasing her just for the laugh of it.

I think as bloggers, we tend to spend more time in front of the computer screens than anywhere else. I know I do. I already spend a good part of my day at work in front of my laptop computer and when I reach home at night, I normally spend another good two-hours at least working on my blogs. That leaves only weekend where I normally take my children either to a nearby park or just around the apartment blocks for some exercise to keep our fitness. Gone are the days where I normaly join some friends for badminton or indoor soccer. Jogging is my only form of exercise to maintain the fitness level at this stage of my life. I hope the badminton hall at the newly completed sports club will be open soon so that I can return to badminton again to get more sweats out of me so that I can lose some weight. :)

Well, whether you are regular or not at sport exercises, you might want to check out Marcels’s No Excuse Gym for some tips on personal fitness. I hope you find something useful there.

Hot News: Screamyx, The Latest Broadband Service by TMNet.

Posted by CJCM

I am so sick with my Streamyx connection for the last few weeks. Every time I am on the internet, for reasons known only to TMNet, the Streamyx line have been disconnecting itself so frequent, I feel like screaming. Is this a new service or what? If it is new service, I wrote the following press launch article which I hope TMNet would consider using in their press release about the new service… tell me what do you think folks.

Screamyx, a new breadband service by TMnetTMNet, one of the monopolistic corporate citizens in Malaysia, proudly launched its new service called Screamyx. As the successor of TMNet’s highly popular Streamyx breadband service, Screamyx is set to take the Malaysian market by the storm. According to TMNet’s Chief Joker Officer (CJO), TMNet decided to introduce this new service after receiving a lot of feedbacks from the customers about its Streamyx product. According to TMNet CJO, a lot of customers had indicated that while they like our Streamyx due to its low speed and poor customer service, the product offering should be upgraded, in line with Malaysian Government ambitious plan to make more people access internet through broadband. As a result of this, the Marketing Team at TMNet with collaboration with its resellers, have been working hard around the clock, setting up tents everywhere such at the shopping malls, the road sides, even pasar borong also, to push the breadband service. Meanwhile, the Technical and Customer Service Team, have been very busy attending to the ever increasing customers seeking supports for even basic things such as …frequent interruptions, disconnected services, mis-billing and what not. The Management at TMNet, however, is laughing all the way to the bank because, no matter what… customers still have to pay the monthly subsCRAPtion fee for subscribing to the service. “With such features offered, we believe our new Screamyx breadband will be the talk of the town. There is no servicve provider in the world who can offer such a service to the public yet… we are the pioneer.” the CJO is quoted as saying.

p/s: This post was successfully updated after my line was disconnected twice.. within 30 minutes.. SCREAMYX rocks
